Reflection #2
Into this presentation I thought
that it'd be a lot easier, after listening to what the professor had to say and
her feedback on how we did on our first reflection and PowerPoints. Going into
the second presentation I do believe we as a class in a whole we're more
confident and what we were speaking on, and we were able to explain the
material effectively. In this presentation we had to do a theme project which
was about different disabilities in our society. There were three to choose from my group chose autism, Group One
showed specific learning disabilities, and group 3 chose anxiety. We all created
a study guide on the chapters assigned to us, i think every group was able to
effectively explain the chapters and give a summary of each one.
The
last group to present was Group One, their presentation was on specific
learning disabilities; they had a very creative and thorough approach of their
theme. They started off by showing a video that effectively gave out the
information we needed to know and was able to blend into their presentation. I
think this helped capture people's attention since they started differently
from everyone else. They made sure to highlight the prevalence and impact of
these disabilities, this depth of information demonstrated their commitment to
educating their peers and fostering a better understanding of the challenges
faced by individuals with learning disabilities. They were able to include videos
that deepened and increased awareness of the issues they were covering. Group
One was able to show us and explain how kids are struggling with learning
disabilities and how it affects their ability to learn. One of their videos
that really stood out to me the most was about visual perception, it used
cartoons to convey the concepts and combined with the narrator's direct tone
and made the information accessible and engaging for all the audience members. Them
using this video helped illustrate abstract concepts in a concrete and
relatable way. Overall, I think Group 1 excelled in delivering a well-rounded
and impactful presentation on learning disabilities their use of videos and
diagrams enhance the clarity and engagement of their content.
Group 3
presented first, their presentation was on anxiety, they tackled this subject
with an impressive blend of actual information and personal anecdotes. Their
presentation was not only informative but also deeply moving, by sharing their
own experiences with anxiety members of group three were able to provide a
unique and relatable perspective that brought the topic to life. This personal
touch added a layer of authenticity and empathy that is often missing from
purely academic presentations. The strengths of group 3's presentation lay in
their ability to connect with the audience on an emotional level. They did an
amazing job explaining different types of anxiety disorders, the symptoms, and
the potential treatments. They demonstrated a thorough understanding of their
subject, and the communication among group members was seamless and cohesive.
It was impressive to see how attentive, interested, and engaged each member was
during the lecture with their cameras on and active participation throughout.
This high level of involvement significantly enhances the professionalism and
efficiency of their presentation. The structured summarization made the chapter
information clear and easily understandable leaving me with a much better
understanding of the topic and its connection to anxiety. I also found their historical
analysis of anxiety well done, the information was presented in a
straightforward and clear manner making it easy to follow and take in all the
information they were giving us. Their stories illustrated the real-life
challenges and triumphs of living with anxiety, helping to break down stigmas
and fostering a deeper understanding among classmates.
My
group, group 2 spoke on autism disorders. I want to start off by talking about
how I thought this presentation would have been easier since we had already did
one before, but it wasn't easier. Unfortunately, there was a lack of
communication between me and my classmates, I ran into a few problems as well
when trying to join the class which also put me at a disadvantage. To be honest
we weren’t on top of the presentations while doing this one specifically I'm
not sure why. A lot of the things we had in our presentation were very last
minute especially with one of our classmates not answering the phone or not
working with his partner on what he had to do as well. There were some people
who were still writing on the presentation as other people were presenting and
I was trying my best to get everything together. Thankfully at the end we were
able to make everything look good and sound well, which I am super grateful for
and hopefully this presentation we can do better. Going more into our
presentation we were able to talk about the different autism disorders, talked about
the histories/overview and much more I learned a lot while doing this
presentation now I know things that I didn't know in the past and I'm super
grateful to have picked this topic in specific so I can broaden my information
on it.
Reflecting on the efforts and outcomes of all
the groups, it is clear that everyone did exceptionally well. Group 1s
comprehensive and creative approach to specific learning disabilities and group
threes heartfelt and engaging presentations on anxiety and our presentation on
autism help demonstrate the depth of understanding and dedication our class
possesses. The seamless communication, detailed study guides, beautiful
brochures, and end use of multimedia by all the groups highlighted our
collective ability to effectively convey complex information. Each group
members active participation and attentiveness further enhance the
presentations creating a professional and cohesive learning environment. Given
the high standards set by these presentations, I am confident that we will all
excel in our future presentation as well. The collaboration, creativity, and
commitment shown by everyone indicate that we have the necessary skill to
tackle any topic with thoroughness and empathy. Our ability to incorporate
personal experiences and interactive elements into our presentations not only shows
our understanding but also fosters a supportive and engaging classroom
atmosphere. Moving forward I believe we will all be able to continue to build
on these strengths, ensuring that our future presentation will be equally
informative and impactful.
